Auction Results

The auction is over.

The Tricycle Collective has helped 10 Detroit families buy back their homes in auction. Because of our direct support, 24 Detroit children who risked losing their home have a safe roof over their head.

Here are the final results of the Wayne County Tax Foreclosure Auction for members of The Tricycle Collective.

In summary:

• 11 families received $500 donations
• 9 families repurchased the home they already lived in (The Tricycle Collective funds purchased homes in full homes for 5 of them)
• 1 family purchased another home in the auction
• and 1 family will be using the  money for housing outside of the auction

We are working with Ruth and Denise to figure out they housing situation moving forward, and Arleen will need a lot of help with the unoccupied property she purchased. They serve as a strong reminder of the important work that needs to be done to ensure that as few people as possible are in this difficult situation.
